This week, Year 5 enriched their RE learning on Sikhism with a trip to the Siri Guru Singh Sabha Gurwarda in West Croydon.
During the visit, the pupils explored various parts of the gurdwara including the prayer hall where they experienced the calming atmosphere and learned about the importance of prayer and worship in Sikhism. They also took part in an engaging talk that provided a detailed history of the Sikh faith, helping to deepen their understanding of its origins and core values. Additionally, the children discovered the incredible community work carried out by the gurdwara, including initiatives to support those in need through the langar (community kitchen) and other charitable efforts. It was a fun and informative visit that helped them understand more about Sikhism and its message of kindness and equality.
