Year 3 had a lovely trip to RHS Wisley on Monday. The weather held which meant they could explore the gardens without fear of getting soaking wet! They had a great time exploring the tropical house, fascinated by the different plants around them and using their sketching skills to draw the amazing cactus plants they could see. The children had a workshop to support their learning about pollination and photosynthesis and thenĀ a guided walk to find the oldest tree in the gardens. The guide explained why different pollinators are attracted to different plants and they children were amazed to learn how large the tree trunk of a giant redwood tree can grow to; over 10metres in diameter!
