Year 2 were lucky enough to visit Hampton Court Palace – one of the Palace’s King Henry VIII used to live in. On arrival we had a fantastic workshop where we were taught how to greet the King or Queen. We also handled artefacts from Tudor Times and discussed what materials they were made from and whether or not they would have been owned by a rich or poor Tudor. Finally, we were taught a Tudor dance. After our workshops we had chance to explore the palace. We enjoyed seeing the huge kitchens where there was an open fire. This would have been how Tudor’s cooked their meat. The rain held off for some of us and we got to explore Henry’s vast gardens. Others of us saw his apartments, which included The Great Hall. We had such a fantastic time.
