Chess Wars Rage at Atwood
Chess has been described as the closest that a human can go to war without physically harming anyone! I believe that children learning Chess is a fundamental part of their educational experience, as it teaches children so much about tactics, the initial development of strategic thinking, critical thinking, circumspection, patience, as well as winning and losing with good grace.
Paul, from Coulsdon Chess Club , has coached the Club for some time now, and the children are making steady progress. My ambition is for the Atwood Chess warriors to play other children in the Trust. I am going to be working on this in the Spring Term, so watch this space.
If you are interested in securing a place at Chess Club for Spring Term, please do let the School Office know.
