Yesterday was the first meeting of this academic year for our newly appointed Wellbeing Ambassadors. The new ambassadors identified that they would be good at the role because they are kind, friendly and helpful.
They came up with so many good ideas of what we can do to improve our wellbeing, such as:
- eating healthily
- drinking water
- being active
- getting enough sleep
- talking about our feelings
- socialising
- playing
- learning
- having a growth mindset
- focusing on the things that make us happy
Each ambassador created a wellbeing quote, some of which are below:
“Be there for others but never leave yourself behind, ” – Lexi
“The only way to have a friend is to be one,” – Asher
“Treat other people as you would like to be treated,” – Joshua
“Be healthy, be kind, be you, ” – Jessica
During the meeting, the children learned a bit about how our brain works and how breathing techniques can help us when we feel overwhelmed. They worked on five-finger and box breathing and went back to class to share what they had learned. Between now and the next meeting, they will be talking to their classmates to gather ideas on how we can improve wellbeing at Atwood.
