It has been a warm week and an exceptionally warm day today! We have been reapplying suncream and walking with our sunhats, ensuring we stay safe in the sun. We have also been enjoying ice lollies; it was too hot not to! This week, we have also been considering how to care for ourselves by wearing the correct uniform, moving around the school calmly and sharing our thoughts, ideas and feelings with others. We know that we should consistently present ourselves in a way that shows that we are proud of ourselves, ready to learn at school and also take pride oursleves outside of school.
Next week is Science Week and Refugee Week. These themes will be the focus of assemblies and some afternoon sessions. Please click here to read the Science Week newsletter, with details of what we’ll be getting up to!
We have also been enjoying the library at break and lunch times this week. We will also open the library for perusal with parents after school until 4:00 one day a week. Please look out for details of this via text next week.
Oak Class Assembly
Well done to Oak class who delivered their class assembly with great confidence. They discussed the legacy of Ancient Greece and how its culture and history have influenced our modern day lives. They then retold the story of Icarus and Daedalus – the boy who flew too close to the sun. They finished with Elton John’s ‘I’m still standing’. Thank you also to Mr Opara and Ms Brathwaite for supporting the children to deliver such an informative and confident performance. It was also lovely to see so many parents and carers in attendance.
