We have been feeling very festive at Cypress Upper this week. Our Christmas hoops went up in the hall (thank you Mr Stewart!), Year 5 wowed us with their Christmas performance (click here to read the news story) and many of us enjoyed an extra special concert and a chance to sing Christmas carols at St Johns Church – organised by the wonderful Mel Ellison of the PTFA. Today we enjoyed our Christmas dinner: turkey and all the trimmings followed by a choice of scrumptious desserts – thank you to our caterers Harrisons who worked hard to ensure the food was hot, delicious and that we were served quickly. We filled our bellies and had a jolly time!
We have year group Christmas singing events to look forward to next week also!
Christmas Concert Dates
Monday 16th December at 2:30pm – Year 4
Thursday 19th at 9:15am – Year 3
Thursday 19th at 2:30pm -Year 6
We hope to see you there.
Cypress Superstars
Conor and Stella wrote a diary entry based on a video stimulus about a puppy. They use emotive language and they had paid close attention to the text type and had clearly thought carefully about the tone of their writing – Ms Wayman and I enjoyed reading your diary extracts – please visit again!
Maya has been awarded gymnast of the term alongside Phoebe Rose at their local gynamstics club! Your dedication is definitely paying off – well done!
Emilia in Sycamore has been demonstrating her music impressive music skills during a recent examination – she passed Grade 4 in piano with distinction! It’s wonderful to hear about talents nurtured outsideof school, as well as those within school. Very impressive, Emilia. Keep up the focus and perseverance!
Ife, Ridwan and Elbie have been working to improve their writing. Elbie and Ridwan have both made accelerated progress in their handwriting – we are very proud of you. Ife has been working on his productivity. He produced a well-written diary extract in the time given. Well done Ife!
Beatrice, Berry and Jay Jay came to the office to share their knowledge of the differences between Christmas in Spain and the UK – they were very knowledgeable. Jay Jay, Berry and Bea: I very much enjoyed talking with you!
Milena in Rowan has made great progress in her writing. She had written a section of narrative that included ambitious vocabulary and correctly punctuated dialogue! Well done, Milena!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
