Recently, Year 6 have been learning about the impact the famous suffragist ‘Emmeline Pankhurst’ had in helping women win equal voting rights to men in the UK. This has informed their writing and the children have been practising their persuasive speeches in the role of Emmeline Pankhurst. Today, they performed their speeches to a raucous, placard-waving audience! The speeches were full of powerful rhetoric and persuasive devices and delivered with real passion. The children have produced some fantastic writing as well as being inspired by this important historical figure.
