Despite the colder weather, Little Ecclesbourne children love nothing more than learning outside. Whether its building with the construction materials or exploring seasonal changes, they help one another discover new skills. Working in teams they built the cascades and enjoyed testing how fast the cars can travel. All wrapped up in their warm clothes they talked about how animals can keep warm as it gets chillier. To be helpful the children decided that they wanted to make bird feeders for local pigeons, parakeets and crows, by carefully threading cereal onto pipe cleaners. After hanging the treats on the trees, they were amazed how quickly they were eaten. This week the children also began to learn the initial sound s, by naming and collecting objects with the sound s.
