In Reception, we got up close and personal with some very creepy-crawly visitors from Zoolab as part of our ‘Beastly Beasts’ topic. The children were very excited to meet a hairy tarantula, a millipede, a giant African land snail called Turbo and a hissing cockroach named Sharon. We learnt so many exciting facts! Did you know that millipedes coil up to look like poo, to stop predators wanting to eat them? They even give off a bad smell to make it more convincing! Cockroaches have two brains and are virtually indestructible; they can even survive completely frozen for a whole year!
