On Saturday the 26th of February, some keen volunteers from Ecclesbourne Primary School joined with others to launch an exciting new project at the allotments. Over the next few months children from Ecclesbourne will be planting, growing and harvesting crops and learning all about how things grow. Once the crops are harvested, we will also learn about cooking and using the vegetables and herbs in some dishes. This project is in conjunction with Pamper, Indulge and Give as part of their Green Project and at the launch party we were joined by one of their patrons, Levi Roots. Everyone worked very hard digging, raking and using power tools to build some raised beds. Fortunately, the sun shone and cake was provided.
