Today, the school filled with Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses and a sea of red, white and blue. The bunting and flags came out and there were sandwiches and a picnic lunch. All this by way of a celebration in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – that’s 70 years as our monarch. It was lovely to see the children celebrating and looking fabulous. In assembly, we learnt that the Queen has a corgi called Candy and is the only person in the country allowed to drive without a licence. We looked at some of her stylish outfits through the ages and the changes she’s observed since her coronation. We also learnt that she has never been seen in a pair of jeans; perhaps she doesn’t own any! To cap it all, the children all went home with a commemorative medal.
