A group of children from Years 5 and 6 attended their first Flag American Football tournament at Archbishop Tenison’s School, Croydon. This was a great introduction to the sport. There were seven teams competing, some with more experience than others, but each child played very well and improved continually as the afternoon went on. We all had lots of fun and Mr Mearkle and Mrs Stutter enjoyed seeing how well they represented the school. They showed perseverance throughout the day, making strides in their game. We scored a touchdown to draw our final game against Chipstead Valley Primary School.
If anyone is interested in playing flag American football out of school, there is a local team called the London Warriors who have flag teams for children aged 13 and under.
