It has been another busy week at Cypress and children have been busy learning and exploring and showing they care
At the Lower School, we marked Remembrance Day with a special assembly. We heard the story of a soldier called Sidney. On the 6th June 1944, Sidney did something amazing. He put on a parachute and jumped out of an aeroplane into France in the middle of the night. When Sidney landed, he had to travel through dangerous places and to deliver messages, but he kept going. Even when he got hurt, Sidney carried on. He was so brave that he was given a medal to say thank you and his family still share his story today. We also had two minutes silence to remember those who gave their lives to bring us peace.
Children in Need
Today we have been showing the Pegasus Value ‘We Care’ by wearing our brightest colours to raise money for Children in Need. The school was looking so vibrant we could have done with our sunglasses. Thank to all our children and families who made a donation. You have helped to make someone’s life better.
Year 2 visit Hampton Court Palace
As part of their learning about the Tudors, Year 2 have visited Hampton Court Palace. The children had a brilliant day and learnt so many new things. Thank you to all the parents and carers who gave up their time to come along and help.
Cypress Superstars
Well done to Paula, Toby, Rita, Wren, Hugo and Jad in Blue Class who came to show us their amazing writing about ‘Moon Day’. We were really impressed with the vocabulary they had used. Well done to Austin, Tireni and Lakai in Orange Class who came to share their fantastic models of ‘The Naughty Bus’ The boys told us they had decided to make good buses and had included all their friends as passengers on the bus with them. Lakai’s bus even had a number and he had made himself the driver. What wonderful work!
We wish all our children and families a great weekend.
