We have had a Super Science Week at Cypress Lower School with exciting investigations in every year group! This morning we had a special assembly where each class in Year 1 and Year 2 shared their learning during assembly. We have been so impressed with our budding scientists this week as they’ve been hypothesising, investigating and drawing detailed scientific conclusions from their findings. Please have a look at Ms Balhadere’s news story from Science Week, which includes some great videos of children sharing their learning. We’ve also had some exciting assemblies at the start of our Science Week which you can read more about here.
In addition to our Science Week we have seen some incredible writing from children in Year 1 and some amazing maths investigations in Year 2 using multi-link. We are incredibly proud of Kerim in Year 2 for his amazing progress in reading this academic year and it’s been a pleasure to hear him reading so fluently – well done! Children in Reception were excited to release their butterflies this morning, after watching them hatch from their chrysalis.
We also marked Refugee Week with an assembly led by Mrs Jerman, thinking about what it means to be a refugee and the challenges they and their families face.
Year 2 visited the Upper School for the first time this afternoon, exploring the garden and having some extra playtime. Please click here to read more about the transition activities and events we have planned for them over the coming weeks.
Our Lower School Sports Day is on Friday 8th July. Please click these links to read the letters for EYFS (Nursery and Reception) and KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2).
We hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
