We have had the most amazing term at CYP Lower! It has been a joy to see children in all year groups improving with their reading and learning across the curriculum and we are so proud of each and every one of you.
This morning we handed out Gold Awards for two children in each class who have achieved well across the curriculum. We read out the reasons each child was chosen and it was great to celebrate children who have made fantastic progress this term in all areas of the curriculum.
We are very proud of you all! Our Gold Award children’s photos will be displayed in the school hall for the next half term.
Last week the amazing PTFA held the Spring Fair at the Upper School, including the great Easter Egg hunt, an Easter bonnet parade and a fantastic raffle. We are pleased to share that they raised a whopping £1766! The school discos across both sites have also raised over £1000 so thank you to all the PTFA volunteers who have made these fundraising events possible. The children, families and staff at Cypress are all very grateful for your commitment and support to our school.
Last Friday we held our Cypress Reading Tree assembly and celebrated those children who consistently read at home by giving them a very special bookmark with a QR code linking to a fab story read by Ms Chapman. Every child who was awarded a bookmark was then entered into a raffle, where two children from each class won a brand new book. The winning classes this half term were Ruby class and Green class and they had great fun at their Bedtime PJ afternoon on Tuesday, snuggling up with books and treats. It was great to see more children winning bookmarks this term, so keep up that amazing reading!

Finally, we’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ and bid a fond farewell to Mrs Enahoro who is leaving us to take up an exciting new role at a local school. We wish her all the best and will miss her at Cypress.
We wish all of our children, families and staff and very happy, safe and peaceful Easter holiday and look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 25th April.
