It has been a fantastic first week back and the children have all settled back into school and their learning well.
This week, at the Lower School, we have been focusing on our Pegasus Value ‘Good Manners’. We have been thinking about how we can show good manners in different aspects of school life such as sharing resources, smiling at one another, listening to each other and letting other people play. The children have been showing how well they can be kind to one another this week and we are really proud of them. At the Upper School, we have also been focusing on being a ‘Pegasus person’. We have reflected on the things that make us a Pegasus person and what that looks like. We also reminded ourselves of the expectations we have of ourselves and others. The children have been actively thinking about what self-improvement means and setting goals to meet our own personal targets.
Year 4 Swimming
Well done to Lime class for completing their intensive swimming sessions! Hawthorn class will be swimming from Monday. If your child is in Hawthorn class, please send them to school on Monday with a swimming costume, a swimming hat and a towel, carried in a separate bag from their school bag. Boys’ swimwear must be designed for swimming and swimming shorts are to be above knee length (i.e. not ‘board’ shorts). Girls are to wear a one-piece swimsuit. Children may wear goggles, hair should be tied back and stud earrings and watches removed. Children are welcome to bring a small, healthy snack to eat post-swim. We hope that Hawthorn class enjoy their swimming sessions.
Year 2 London Trip
Year 2 have been on a trip to London as part of their thematic learning. The children visited The Monument, The Garden at 120 and St Dunstan’s church. The weather may have been wet but it certainly did not dampen the children’s enthusiasm. We were very pleased to hear that several members of the public commented on how polite and well behaved the children were. They were excellent representatives of our school. Thank you also to all our parent helpers who gave up their time to support the trip.
Mrs Sorensen and Lily
Mrs Sorensen came in to visit us on Wednesday. Her and baby Lily are doing really well and it was lovely to see them. Ms Binks enjoyed all the cuddles she got to have with Lily. We look forward to seeing Mrs Sorensen back in school again soon.
Cypress Superstars
Well done to Akari in Orange Class who visited the office with some wonderful writing. He had used his phonics brilliantly to produce a police report. Well done Akari! Well done also to Sayo, who used the word crestfallen
Hazel Class Assembly
Well done to Hazel Class who delivered a wonderfully informative assembly this morning. They read their non-chronological reports and delivered interesting facts about the rainforest and offered ways that we can do little things to help counter the effects of deforestation. They rounded the assembly off with Macy Gray’s ‘Beauty in the World’. Thank you also to Miss Barker and Miss Simadree for helping the children to deliver their assembly today.
Cypress Football Team
Well done to the Cypress football team who played a home match yesterday against St James the Great RC Primary. They battled against the weather to secure a 3-1 win! Special mention goes to Lea and Pietro who scored the winning goals! Well done to all who took part yesterday.
We wish all of our children and families a lovely weekend.
