BINF- Museum Day Success!

Museum Day was a huge success!  The children’s hard work and progress really stood out to the crowds of visiting family members.  All of the children have been very excited preparing for this spectacular event and they shared their work with great pride. We were overwhelmed by the amount of parents that came to visit – the school was packed! Thank you to all of our parents and carers for taking the time to come and see our learning and for writing such lovely messages in our visitor books.

In our reception classes, the children have been learning all about ‘Monsters’ and their visitors were impressed with the children’s writing about monsters and with the detail and care taken to create ’junk modelling’ and Playdough monsters.  Many of our visitors struggled to create their own playdough monsters to the same standard!  One parent wrote “The museum was amazing. I loved all of the artwork and the stories behind the work. What a wonderful event!” Another parent wrote “I loved museum day both the creative work of the children and I really enjoyed myself joining in with the activities- thank you!”

Year one families were welcomed into the classrooms to join in with activities based around their topic of ‘Toys.’ The children particularly enjoyed working together to make their own puzzles and cup and ball games. Their visitors also had the opportunity to look at the children’s amazing thematic workbooks, view the portrait galleries and enjoy the children’s brilliant model and musical instrument creations.  One visitor wrote “We all enjoyed making the ‘peg dolls’, probably mummy more than my son.”  Another wrote, ” Thank you for sharing your amazing creative work. It was a wonderful day and we really enjoyed sharing it all with you.”

In Year two, our families were thrilled to see the children’s Tudor house models and their Tudor portrait galleries.  All of our visitors loved the London Sunset Cityscape artwork and they really enjoyed browsing through the beautiful work in the children’s thematic workbooks.  Many of the visitors had great fun taking part in the activities with their children, especially trying their hand at calligraphy with the quills. One visitor wrote “Fantastic work on show at the museum. I loved seeing everything that the children have worked so hard on. Fun activities too!”

A big thank you to all of the staff that work so hard to ensure that our children have excellent learning opportunities every day as well as special days like today.  Finally, a big ‘WELL DONE’ to all of our children for their hard work!
