Atwood Leading the Way in Digital Tech
Atwood is lucky enough to have its own radio station called Lion Radio. In the studio, Mr Veale has a Rodecaster Pro and a couple of mics so that the children can learn some basic music and sound technology. In collaboration with Mr Beaumont in the Music department, the children use a superb cloud based program call Soundtrap, in order to record podcasts or investigate basic music production techniques in Year 5 and 6.
Today, we learned some basic multi-track recording, laying down an audio track (voice), adding in sounds and music as a ‘bed’, mixing down to an MP3 file, exporting the file and finally uploading it on to the website.
In the first episode, Kariss and Sofiah from 5D, produced a ‘proof of concept’ podcast- basically, we wanted to know if the project would work! The girls talked about sport at Atwood and what a wide variety of sporting activities are on offer. They also talked a little bit about our Teams: Aire, Fire, Water and Earth.
We hope to bring you more podcasts as the year progresses- LionPod.
