Summer Fair- brief update
It was certainly a scorching hot day on Saturday for FOAP’s annual Summer Fair. With each year group preparing a stall to raise much need money to support Atwood, there was plenty to tempt our visitors.
Not only that, but with the Atwood Arms in fine form, the police and fire service in attendance, the ice-cream van, the Scout’s climbing wall and a whole host of sporting side shows, there was certainly something for everyone.
Of course the stocks were popular, with Miss Dunn stepping up for her first outing, myself getting pelted with water at the hands of often too gleeful pupils, all watched on by my daughter, Florence.
Florence then had the honour of judging the stalls and let Helen and I know that her favourite was Year 2’s coconut shy. The sight of Mr Quickenden in a hula skirt and Hawaiian shirt was something to behold, even with the beard!
The day was topped off with a surprise visit by the Mayor of Croydon, Mr Jason Perry, who was very impressed with Atwood.
My thanks as ever, go to our amazing FOAP for organising such a wonderful event. My thanks also to you as parents for supporting the Fair, and to my staff for running the various stalls and side-shows.
