On 4th July, Year 2 had their seaside trip to Broadstairs beach. We were so lucky as we had beautiful sunshine all day long! We travelled by coach where the children especially enjoyed going through the tunnels. Soon enough, the children were able to see the sea in the distance and got very excited. The coach was filled with chants of ‘Seaside! Seaside!’. When we arrived, we decided to have our lunch by the bandstand to avoid the pesky seagulls. Unfortunately, they were still lurking above us but no one’s food actually got stolen! After lunch we walked down the steps to get to the beach armed with buckets, spade and lots of beach toys. We spent the afternoon making sandcastles, burying each other and some of us even got the chance to paddle in the sea! It was cold at first but the we quickly got used to it, jumping over the waves with smiles on our faces. Thank you to all the parents who kindly volunteered. We had such a fantastic day!
