Today, Ecclesbourne was joined by award-winning author, Andrew Clover. Andrew writes the ‘Rory Branagan: Detective’ series which now has seven books published.
Andrew led an energetic assembly for years 2-6 in which he shared his seven secrets to great writing. Children were then challenged to go back to class and write their own pieces, armed with this new inside knowledge. Andrew worked closely with Year 6, leading workshops in Mars and Jupiter classes.
Over lunchtime, Andrew read the children’s writing and we got together for a second assembly in the afternoon in which Andrew shared some highlights from each class and everyone voted for the best pieces. The standout writers, each winning a signed copy of one of Andrew’s books, were Cienna, Marilyn, Freya and Mila.
