A shortened week this week means a shorter newsletter. However, just because we’ve only had three days in school it doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy.
In assembly this week, the children have learned about the importance of cutting our carbon.
It is hard to believe that we have already made it to half term.
In Year Five, the children have been creating and performing ‘blackout’ Poetry using the book The Lost Words: A Spell Book by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris’.
The Atwood girls’ football team opened their season with a win this week.
As part of our continued commitment to reading and phonics, we were delighted to take delivery this week of even more books to support the delivery of our Little Wandle Phonics programme.
It has been another bumper week of learning at Atwood. YEAR GROUP BY YEAR GROUP This week Nursery have been learning about the number four and enjoying the book’ We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen.
On Monday this week, a selection of Year 5 and 6 pupils represented the school at the Croydon’s prestigious interschool cross country competition.
It has been another busy week of learning at Atwood. YEAR GROUP BY YEAR GROUP Our Nursery and Reception children have been busy outside enjoying the sunshine and you can read more about their week on our website here.
It was lovely to see Atwood come alive today with a splash of colour as we held a mufti day in aid of the AT Society.
This week at Atwood a group of Year 5 children are being put through their paces on their bikes.
As ever, there has been lots going on at Atwood. Year group by year group Our Reception children have started attending for full days and have been getting to grips with lunchtimes, playtimes and spending longer in school.
This week, Year 6 have been on a fantastic adventure. They set off on Monday to Stubbers Adventure Centre for a week of activities and fun.
It has been another busy week at Atwood. After the corridors being empty last week, it is great to walk through the Early Years and hear the chatter and buzz of children in the classrooms.
One of our Year 3 pupils was busy through the summer on an inspiring fundraising mission.
