Hi, this is a message from the ECO squad at Cypress!
We started the week with an assembly led by Miss Binks focusing on the importance of being a great friend to others and what being a good friend looks like in practice.
This week has been a busy week, but we have also been reflective.
We are back to school and feeling ready to dive into our learning!
This week, we have been learning about brave men and women who have fought against inequality and the rights of people of colour around the world.
See our photos from this week!
Absorption has been the focus of the week. We have discussed some ‘top tips’ to help us become absorbed and have realised that absorption is not just concentrating or giving something focused attention; it also involves an enjoyment and engagement with what is being learned.
During assembly at the Lower School this week, we learnt about International Day of Peace.
This week the weather may have been changeable this week, but at Cypress Upper we have not!
Yesterday, we were all saddened to hear of the passing of HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
It has been such an eventful week at Cypress! Monday and Tuesday saw the hottest temperatures ever recorded in the UK, and the sweatiest school days we’ve ever witnessed!
We have been thinking carefully about mistakes – and how we can use them as an opportunity to learn.
This week we have been thinking about how to show understanding – being aware of other people’s feelings, being tolerant and forgiving.
A big Cypress well done to Evie, Maxwell, Sebastian, Raymond and Pablo for their efforts to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Yesterday and today have been our Upper School Sports Days. We have had tremendous fun!
