About Friends of Atwood Primary (FOAP)
The Friends of Atwood Primary is a fun, sociable, charitable organisation (charity no:1112103). Our main aim is to raise funds for the school for events/experiences or equipment that fulfil our aim to enrich the education of the pupils and are above what would be expected of a school to provide.
Who are we?
If you are a parent, relative, carer, guardian or teacher of a child at Atwood Primary you’re automatically a member of the Friends of Atwood! There’s no joining fee, no monthly direct debit, just automatic inclusion into an organisation that works to make things better for your child. You have unlimited access to all the formal and informal meetings and an open invitation to get involved and volunteer for as many of the fund-raising events as you would like.
Our annual events hosted by Friends of Atwood Primary include:
- Sanderstead Annual Fireworks Event;
- Summer Fair;
- Christmas Fair
Other events hosted by Friends of Atwood Primary have included:
- Happy’s Circus;
- Sponsored Fun Runs;
- Adult evenings such as quiz nights and Bubbles & Bingo nights;
- Fundraisers from the Children’s Artwork;
- Pre-Loved Uniform Sales;
- Easter Prize Drawers;
- Parents Football Tournaments
From these events FOAP have funded pledges made from parents, teachers and other committee members by completing the pledge form, where it is then put to vote to all the committee members. Anyone connected to the school can place a pledge. This pledge then gets put to the committee, who then discuss, possibly question and then vote on whether to support, decline or suggest an alternative which may include partial funding, alternative item, match funding or requiring further information.
Pledges not received directly from the school will be sent to the school for feasibility checking prior to the committee discussing and voting upon.
FOAP committee members
FOAP is run by a committee which is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The next AGM is in February 2023 but FOAP are looking for new committee members who may be interested in giving something back to the school community by volunteering their time.
Should you wish to join the FOAP committee or attend some events to see for yourself, please email: contactatwoodpa@gmail.com.
