History
Whitehorse Manor opened in 1892 and has one of the best sets of records of any school in Croydon including records of entry back to the date that the school was founded.
Many of our ex pupils contact us from all over the world with fond memories of their time here and we are pleased to receive any photos or reminiscences about your time at the school which we may be able to add to this website. Please contact us if you have information of this type.
Most of our historical school records are now held at Croydon local studies library. You can also find more information from our Wikipedia page.
THE SCHOOL – AS IT WAS IN 1891
Here’s a photograph of the front of the school from 1891.
Classes of 1929 and 1930
These two photographs were sent to us by Howard Dyer, a former pupil at Whitehorse School. If you have any photographs or information to contribute, please get in touch. If you recognise anyone in these photographs, please let us know.

The 1970s
One of our parents, Mr Patel, was a pupil at Whitehorse Manor himself in the 1970s. Here are a couple of class photos from his time here:
Whitehorse War Memorial
The war memorial is dedicated to 117 ‘old scholars’ of Whitehorse who gave their lives during the Great War 1914-1918. Every year on remembrance day we hold a memorial service to remember these young men and other victims who have suffered or died in wars since then.
This memorial is dedicated to the glorious memory of the old scholars of the Whitehorse Road Council School who gave their lives for their king and country in the Great War 1914-1919.
