Today, Ecclesbourne kicked off Book Week with an action-packed ‘speed read’! The children settled in for a comfortable story time whilst our teachers ran from classroom to classroom to read to the children in each class for a speedy two minutes each.
Our teachers were put to the test as they only had around 20 seconds to get to the next classroom when the timer went off, which was simple enough when going to the classroom next door but the transition between reception and year 6 was quite a sprint!
There was a good variety of genres on display, from picture books to poetry to Shakespeare, and a great time was had by all. Well done to our fantastic staff for being up for a challenge and starting Book Week with an activity to remember!
