Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed Viking Day which was packed with exciting activities and new learning experiences. The day began with a fun and engaging show where the children took on roles to act out scenes from Viking mythology. They then had the opportunity to cook a simple Viking soup using seasonal ingredients and learn about how the Norse people prepared their food. Children also enjoyed sketching Viking artefacts, focusing on the details and designs of the objects. Finally, they gathered around a campfire to listen to Norse tales, sparking their imaginations and bringing the history of the Vikings to life in a memorable way.
It was lovely to see so many of the children (and staff!) embracing the Viking lifestyle by coming to school dressed in Viking-inspired clothing.
