CYP UPPER: Y3 become Stone Age Chefs!

It has been an exciting week of learning for year 3! The year 3 children made a tasty Stone Age vegetable stew this week as part of our thematic curriculum.

The children wrote their own recipe and learnt all about the three different cutting techniques: bridge hold, claw grip and the fork secure method. We discussed how to use the cooking tools safely and when to add certain ingredients. A big shout-out to Daphne, in Holly Class, who still managed to give the stew a stir, even with an injured arm!

The children washed, prepared and added the vegetables to the pan carefully. They ended the lesson with the best part…tasting the yummy stew! The teachers were surprised that the children loved it so much, that they were asking for more!

We hope these cooking skills are transferrable to your kitchens at home!
