Our Year 1 classes had a great day this week at the Horniman museum. As part of our thematic topic ‘Africa’, they have learned about the nomadic life of the Masai people in East Africa, large African markets in Ghana and toys made out of recyclable materials from South Africa. It was fun touching so many artefacts, including items of clothing, jewellery, animal hides and musical instruments. After all that excitement, they enjoyed exploring the galleries and practised making some observational drawings of a range of plants.
