Today, six budding poets representing Years 1-6 travelled to Whitehorse Manor to perform in the Pegasus poetry competition and they did us proud! The theme was spring and each poet performed their own original poem in spring-inspired costumes to thunderous applause. The judges were blown away by their creativity and gave excellent individual feedback to each of our entrants!
Children competed against other entrants from their year group representing each of the schools in the trust. Here’s how we did:
– Year 1: Jeet (in a fabulous hand-made costume) – Highly commended
– Year 2: Inaya (with buckets of confidence) – Bronze medal
– Year 3: Agata (oozing sunshine and happiness) – Highly commended
– Year 4: Reksika (for a laugh-out-loud funny poem) – Silver medal
– Year 5: Malachi (bringing the rhythm to inspire the biggest cheer from the crowd) – Gold medal
– Year 6: Caliyah (so passionate about a cause close to her heart): Highly commended
A huge thank you to all the adults at home and at school who helped the children prepare; the hard work was very much worth it!
