Year 3 had a fantastic time on their trip to Crystal Palace park this week.
First, we became archaeologists and investigated the remains of where the Crystal Palace once stood by drawing and using our questioning skills to find out information about the sphinxes and the Italian terraces. We then went on a dinosaure hunt through the park to look at Mr Waterhouse Hawkins’ dinosaurs and discussed why they looked slightly different to what we now know the dinosaurs looked like. As Birch Class were lucky enough to have a bit of sunshine on their trip, Ms Corbet challenged the children to recreate a picture of the Crystal Palace using natural materials from the park.
Although it was very chilly, we warmed up on our dinosaur trail and had a fun break in the playground! Thank you to Jess Tilli and Brown and Green Cafe for letting us warm up in the cafe to have our lunch!
A big thank you also to all our parent volunteers for helping out and making the day even more memorable.
Have a look at some of the highlights of our day below!
