Last week, the Beulah community were treated to two very wonderful theatrical productions from Indigo class and Lilac class. Indigo class delivered a master class in poetry recital and similes. They also showcased all their writing based on ‘What is a star’ by Moira Andrews. Listening to the assembly, it became clear that there are a lot of budding poets in Indigo class. At the end of the assembly, they delivered a lovely rendition of ‘Reach for the stars’ by S-Club 7.
Lilac class brought the West End to Thornton Heath with a production based on ‘The Great Fire of London.’ Year 2 have been learning about the fire of 1666. They brought the learning to life with drama, dance and songs. By the end, everyone knew why the fire spread quickly through the city. They ended the assembly on a high note (Greatest Showman) and received a standing ovation.
From these two assemblies, it was clear to the parents and carers in the audience that the children are learning a lot and having fun in the process.
