This week, Year 3 have been taking part in Science week! On Monday, we were given our research question, how do plants disperse their seeds to germinate?
Straight away, we set about investigating and found out that plants can disperse their seeds in several different ways: wind, water, explosion, and animals.
In our next session, we designed and made our own seeds making sure we included details of how they dispersed from the parent plant.
We then conducted an experiment to see how the mechanism in an exploding seed pod worked. It was a lot of fun!
Finally, we presented our findings to the rest of the school. It was great to hear about what the other year groups had investigated.
