Fees at Little Cypress

We have a number of different types of places at Little Cypress and this page describes what these are and outlines where fees apply.

Places for 3 and 4 year olds (Gold and Silver Classes)

Funded part time places for 3 and 4 year olds – term time only

These places are offered as three hours per day – fifteen hours a week – at no cost to families. This funding starts the term following a child’s third birthday. These fifteen hours will be made up of five mornings .  If you take up a place at Little Cypress Nursery your full fifteen hours will be claimed back by our school and cannot be used elsewhere.

Funded full time places for 3 and 4 year olds – term time only

In some cases the government offers to fund full time places for working families – thirty hours per week – at no cost to families.  Eligibility criteria apply to these places – www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.  Please ask at the school office if you are unsure. If you are eligible for the 30 hours funding there is an additional daily contribution to cover staffing costs over lunch of £8.00 per day (£40.00 per week).  This additional £8 daily contribution will remain the same from September 2024.

Part funded, full time places for 3 and 4 year olds – term time only

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria for a full time funded place and you wish self fund your hours to the full thirty hours per week by making a payment for the additional fifteen hours (or less if you choose only some full time days).  In September 2024 the cost for any afternoon is £27.00. For example, your child gets 15 hours government funding which covers every morning and you wish your child to stay every afternoon as well, this would cost you £135 per week.

Places for Two Year Olds (Rainbows)

We also have some places available for two year old children which fall into the following categories:

Funded part time places for 2 year olds – term time only

Again, these places are for fifteen hours per week –  mornings.  The government pays for these hours for eligible families please click here for more information.

Self funded places for 2 year olds – term time only

We offer the ability to self fund either part time or full time places for your two year old child.  These places are subject to availability as adult to child ratios are high with very young children (1:5).

Full time self funded places for 2 year olds (30 hours per week, term time only)

These places are charged at £280 per week. There is an additional daily contribution to cover staffing costs over lunch of £8.00 per day (£40.00 per week).  This additional £8 daily contribution will remain the same from September 2024.

Part time self funded places for 2 year olds (15 hours per week, term time only)

These places are charged at £140 per week which equates to 5 mornings or 5 afternoons. We can be more flexible with our provision for self funded two years old and you are able to ‘mix and match’ although we ask that your child does a minimum of three sessions per week (a session is a morning or afternoon) and individual sessions are charged at £28.00 per session.

‘Wraparound’ care for children at Little Cypress

The school day at Little Cypress begins at 9.00am and ends at 3.15pm.  If parents require extra care beyond this time extra charges apply for breakfast club and after school club.  For the children at Little Cypress all this care takes place in the Little Cypress building and fully qualified and experienced Pegasus staff run the provision.  We can care for children from 7:30am until 6.00pm and payments for this service, as with all other payment at Pegasus schools, are made through Magic Booking.  For more information about wraparound care please click here to see our extended schools page.

Please note:

  • Children receive 15 hours government funded childcare starting in the term after their third birthday (or second birthday for eligible children);
  • All paid-for sessions must be booked in advance and places for extended hours must be booked and paid for via Magic Booking (click here);
  • As nursery is non-statutory provision, we reserve the right to withdraw places, following consultation with senior leadership if attendance has been below 90% and parents or carers have not responded to support given to improve this.  Places are in great demand and another family may be able to use this place at nursery;
